  1. Do you have any volunteering events planned even later in December? Are there any in which an 11 year old child might participate or observe?
We are a family of 4 living in Tokyo. The children are ages 17 and 11. We are all bilingual in English and Japanese. One of us parents is a physician and the other a linguist and universtiy English teacher. But in any case, we are seeking an opportunity to help where help is needed over the Christmas-New Years holidays and also a chance for our children to understand at a human level what has happened and how the needs of people in Tohoku are being met.
I saw Ohfunato, Rikuzentakada and Kesenuma in May, so I have some idea what conditions are like. Also we would be interested in long term involvement with the recovery effort.
