2023 Children’s Festival in Kadonowaki Town, Ishinomaki City
A children’s festival in Kadonowaki Town, Ishinomaki City. It was truly enjoyable and much fun. Due to the declining birthrate, aging population, and the three-year interruption caused by the new coronavirus, the festival had to be held on a reduced scale. Nevertheless, when people gather together, something important is born.

2020 Pediatric Brain Tumor Network (PBTN) Online Halloween Party
Everyone had lots of fun at this year’s Pediatric Brain Tumour Network (PBTN) Halloween Party held on Oct 17 (Sat). Both children and adults dressed up in elaborate costumes and joined in online. The participants enjoyed activities such as pumpkin carving and making halloween themed treats.
I think that although it would be better to meet and interact in person for an event like this, I actually felt closer to the participants on the other side of the screen this year than compared with last year’s Halloween Party. At these types of events, staying on schedule and keeping up with the energy of the children is always a challenge, but since this time was online, it was easier to remember everyone’s names and faces from watching the screen. I look forward to the day when we can rejoice together in person and embrace one another. Special thanks to all the volunteers for their great support and making our first online event a success!
