Halloween 2020

Following on last year, nadia will again support a social event for the Pediatric Brain Tumour Network (PBTN). Unlike other years where the support was in person, this year we will host an online Hallowe’en party! Although the children were looking forward to interacting in person at our annual party, unfortunately this year this won’t be possible. But we still want to see each other… So the parents have moved their exchange online as well. While the parents who are normally under great pressure for the care of their children attend a seminar, nadia will spend time with 30 to 40 children, including those with brain tumours. We will carve pumpkins, make Hallowe’en themed snacks, tell scary stories and of course dress in costumes!

We would love for you to join us in supporting this event. If interested, please speak to one of your nadia friends or register through the form below. Let’s better understand pediatric brain tumours through interacting with the kids.

March 11th 2020 charity party

March 11 marks the 9th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake. This day holds special meaning for Nadia which was established as a result of the disaster – while we remember and mourn the lives lost, we are also grateful for all of the precious friendships that have been forged since.

Since our founding in 2011, Nadia has expanded our activities beyond the regions affected by the earthquake and tsunami, supporting those with social disadvantages including children suffering from paediatric brain tumours. Our activities are funded by donations from individuals and corporations that identify with our ethos of Hands have no Nationality.

We have organised an anniversary charity event to re-connect with old friends and supporters, make new friends, and give you an update on what Nadia has been up to. There will also be a raffle to raise funds for future activities. Please invite friends and colleagues interested in having fun while giving back to the community!

Charity party – Thank You

Over 70 nadians participated in our annual charity party on March 9. Thank you for your attendance! Spending time with all of our friends, surrounded by great food, is an immense happiness to us all.

We had the opportunity to present our activities from the past year, and receiving your positive feedback is a great motivation as we tackle our activities in the coming year. Some of you encouraged us with tears in your eyes, and gave us great confidence that we are on the right path. As we continue down this path, your supportive words will remain close to our hearts.

We would like to express our utmost gratitude to Patric Pachon from Restaurant Le Petit Bedon, who has always been a staunch nadia supporter, for providing us with the wonderful food and venue.

Charity Party March 2018

March 11 will mark seven years from the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake of 2011. nadia, born from the aftermath of the disaster, will also soon turn seven. Last year we made changes to our teikan (organization contract) to expand the scope of our activities – in addition to our continued work in Tohoku, our activities include providing support for organizations helping epilepsy sufferers or pediatric cancer patients. These activities of nadia are funded solely through your contributions.

As announced earlier, we will hold our annual charity party on Friday, March 9. This year, Le Petit Bedon in partnership with sister restaurant Pachon is providing us with a real treat – Cassoulet, a special dish from South France not available on their regular menu! Christmas party at Kamome Gakuen in Ishinomaki

We will be hosting our annual Christmas party at Kamome Gakuen, a facility in Ishinomaki for children with mental and physical disabilities. The party is of course fun for the students, but has also become an opportunity for graduates and their parents to meet and catch up, renew their ties. This annual event which began in 2014 is a favourite that brings joy to all nadia members.

We will prepare a delicious spread and fun entertainment for the close to 60 children. Everyone’s favourite, Santa Claus, is expected to make another appearance! Of course his reindeer will be on hand to help Santa give gifts. Let’s make it a wonderful and fun Christmas party to remember!

Donations for Amgalan-kun

In 2015, Amgalan (7 years old), from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, was suffering from bouts of nausea, and from the results of an MRI, was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor. After that, he had one successful surgery in Japan, but due to finding a recurrence and metastasis, came back to Japan in December of 2016 for chemotherapy and radiation. However, having had radiation therapy at a hospital in Tsukuba city, we were told nothing more could be done because it would have a negative effect. Without giving up, we found another doctor at a hospital in Tokyo who is now considering his treatment. Nonetheless, the funds we have collected for his medical care have already run out. Because his treatment will become long-term, we would like to ask for your donations to help us with the economics, like living expenses and medical treatment costs. Thank you for your kind support and we very much look forward to your cooperation.

Baatar Banzragch, Amgalan’s father
Naran Erdene, Amgalan’s mother
